Scribes are of two minds about how to begin a tale. There is the camp, the old school, who like to begin at the beginning. The other camp, the new kids, like a strong en media res opening with a pithy opening line, an instant challenge the point of view character or protagonist must confront quickly, and some kind of resolution of the immediate problem that sets the reader (or viewer, or gamer, etc.) up to believe in the main characters ability to succeed.
There are stories that play with this troupe, they start the protagonist in a crisis without the ability to solve it and part of their individual character arc is finding the tools and helpers to resolve it.
Occasionally you get a story with a strong opener that is quickly forgotten, never to be resolved. In the hands of a deft writer this can be a really neat trick; in lesser hands it’s just annoying.
This is going to be some mix of the above I expect.
It’s a blog. Do you remember blogs? Some posts will have a wonderful self contained tail of trial, triumph or failure, and maybe even a little lesson to be learned. Others are going to be rambling.
Did I mention yet there will be non-human persons (Otherkin and their various subsets, as well as gods, demons, monsters, old ones, and my second cousin Cthulhu) and a lot of sex?
A. Lot. Of. Sex.
Gay sex, straight(ish) sex, vanilla sex, and kink sex. There will be stories from this muundane realm human’s seem to live in, there will be stories from the other places and times I exist in, and there will be fantasies you can just revel in. Sometimes I’ll let you know which they are. Sometimes you can just chose for yourself if you want to accept as “real” the story I share. This is a collaborative process.
One last thing: This is an act of love, an act of hope, and an act of defiance in a world that is actively trying to kill trans people, migrants, people of color, and eventually anyone who does not want t embrace a while, fascist, nationalist ideology (for those living in the US).
